Introduction to Community-Based Research with Dagen Perrott and Julie Chamberlain

Join Dagen Perrott and Dr. Julie Chamberlain on February 8th for a lunchtime introduction to community-based research (CBR). This event will take place on Zoom from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

This session looks at CBR through its core principles and how these have been practiced here in Manitoba. Using case studies and conversations participants will become familiar with what it means for research to be community-led, participatory, action oriented, and involve meaningful relationships. Participants will engage with arguments for why CBR is important and the limitations it faces. The session will conclude with information on the Manitoba Research Alliance and the opportunities available for doing community-based research here.

This session was designed for undergraduate or graduate students who are unfamiliar with the principles and values behind CBR but will be of interest to anyone looking for an introduction to the topic.
