Community-Based Research 101
This event led by the CBRTC’s program assistant Dagen Perrott looks at the ideals of community-based research (CBR). It goes through a brief explanation of the theoretical underpinnings and how it has been practiced here in Manitoba. The event is geared at folks relatively new to CBR. After this presentation folks will be familiar with four conceptual pillars of CBR: community-led, participatory, action oriented, and meaningful relationships. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of why CBR is important and some of the limitations. In addition, there will be space given throughout and afterwards to discuss, critique, and explore the ideas presented.
Join Dagen Perrott on Zoom from 12:30pm to 1:30pm September 29th.
This event is supported in part by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council through the Manitoba Research Alliance. We also receive support from The University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba Centre for Social Science Research and Policy.
