Her solid academic credentials, consultative leadership style, and inclusive nature were well recognized throughout the university community.
Celebrating A Legacy At UWinnipeg:
On Friday, June 15, 2018, The University of Winnipeg renamed a prominent corridor on campus to recognize the distinguished legacy of Dr. Marsha Hanen. For her lasting contributions and continued support, UWinnipeg is proud to permanently rename the Spence Street Mall as Marsha Hanen Way.
The Marsha Hanen Global Dialogue and Ethics Fund:
The Marsha Hanen Global Dialogue and Ethics program was established in 2005 with a generous donation from Marsha Hanen CM. Dr. Hanen intends her gift as the inaugural contribution to the establishment of a Global Dialogue Fund in support of the activities of The University of Winnipeg's Global College. This fund will support the open expression and dissemination of ideas and respectful discussion by providing an interdisciplinary forum for faculty-initiated research and dialogue on relevant topics of the day such as ethics, human rights and responsibilities; women's issues and women's global roles; local and international community needs; freedom of expression and civil liberties; citizenship and participation in globalization and democracy; responsibility and security; global corporate responsibility, ethics and governance; impacts of science and technology; and global public health issues.
