AUDIENCE COMMENTS

“What a treat to hear a made in Manitoba concert!”

This was my favourite concert of this season. Madeline has a wonderful presence and brought the pieces by Ravel alive.  The amazing cohesiveness of the other work was impressive.  I love both works but especially the first.  The final piece was a show stopper!  Amazing. (S)

Intriguing choice of lesser known music.  Elegance and expressiveness in the performances of all the players.  The drama of the Korngold piece is stunning. I enjoyed also the contrast between Ms. Hildebrand’s serious musicianship and the humourous descriptions of the compositions.  Fine young performer at the beginning of the concert. (Anonymous)

It is said that Mozart is very revealing. If so, this concert showed us that we have reason to be proud of our ARTISTS OF MANITOBA. The voices of the piano and strings were together, both in time and also in “voice”, that is, working together, contributing as equals, not overpowering the others. A “committee”, in the best sense of the word. This style carried through to the Korngold, with more drama and expression. In between, Madeline’s masterly rendition of the Ravel Valses was played with apparent familiarity and affection. We look forward to more performances from these artists! (PH)

Beautiful concert, very moving and delightfully intimate.  I appreciate the attention to detail and community orientation.  I also really enjoyed how educational and approachable it all felt.  Great experience! (KMJ)

Wonderful concert, I really appreciate the opportunity to hear the excellent Manitoba talent.  The Korngold selection was outstanding. (MK)

A fantastic concert, great programme! Especially enjoyed Madeline Hildebrand and her wonderful piano playing.  Thanks for supporting Manitoba talent! Keep it up! (KT)

Wow! The selection of music was inspired!  The musicians phenomenal!  And the venue intimate.  I’m smiling from ear to ear and love how the music has impacted us all – from the very young to those a little older. (Anonymous)

Lovely concert.  The Korngold was outstanding! Thanks! (ME)

What a treat to hear a made in Manitoba concert! Good to celebrate the series, good to celebrate our own! (C)

Oh, I don’t know how to put this!  Everything was simply divine!  And the opera!  So nice!  Really liked the wonderful sound of her voice!  The second was so wonderful that I cannot write of it!  The other pieces she played were just as nice! (S)

A very enjoyable event.  Exposure to a composer of which I knew nothing. Thanks. (GM)

Hello! I believe this concert was amazing.  I should go to more of these concerts.  I personally like this concert.  I like this concert because it was good. In fact, it was spectacular, I play the piano.  I liked this concert. (C) (Age 7)

We would have loved to see the TV on tonight, so that everybody could see the hands of the pianist! (Anonymous)  (The Artist requested the monitors not be used for this concert. ED)
